It can be extremely embarrassing if you land up at a formal occasion in the most casual of clothes. Even more embarrassing is when you are overdressed for the occasion – imagine wearing a long dress for an evening by the pool. Those who dress well may or may not have a knack for the same. Neither do they have any kind of telepathic powers by which they can guess what other people are going to wear. There are just a few things that they do before they head out for the evening.

The first thing that you should ensure is that you check a few things with the host. This includes the number of people that have been invited for the party, the time of the party and whether there is a theme that has been planned. Knowing the answers to these questions can easily solve your troubles to a large extent since you will be able to pick an appropriate dress from your wardrobe.

In case you feel that you do not have something right for the occasion, do not hesitate to shop around for something that will go well for the event. A good idea is to look through the Internet and check out the latest fashion trends so that you know what is in and what is not when you look into stores. The store personnel are not likely to help you with this because they will want their last season stock to get over in any case.

Getting the fashionable look right can make all the difference between being another invitee to the party and being the heart and soul of the occasion. It is important to pay attention to fashion if you want to turn heads wherever you go. However, you must also be aware of the risks involved in fashion.

Just check out the latest fashion disaster that Jennifer Lopez committed. She opted for a low cut dress and it exposed more than what she originally intended. Well, Jennifer Lopez is a celebrity and the extra exposure may only help her sell her records faster. However, you don’t want people to look at you and snigger every time they are reminded of your fashion disaster, right?

You may find it virtually impossible to be taken seriously once the fashion disaster occurs. It does not always have to be related to skin show. Even the wrong choice of colors can leave you completely embarrassed.

Always remember that high risk leads to higher benefits in the world of fashion. However, high risk also may lead to a complete disaster. Try too hard and you may end up looking desperate. Try that ultra tight attire when you have put on a bit of weight and you may end up like a big bunny rabbit wrapped up for ridicule.

Many persons commit fashion blunders because they are not realistic. If you are not fit, try to tone down your fashion sense. It is one thing to highlight your physique and figure. However, it is another thing to put up a public show for the entire world.

What to Wear for Men

Just because the social stigma is that guys do not have nearly the fashion concerns that women do, does not mean that men do not have decisions to make as well. While men may not have to accessorize nearly as much as women do, men have to know what to wear for special occasions.

For a wedding it is simple. Men do not have to do much thinking. Black tie means tuxedo so if you get that in your invitation to the wedding then you need to go out and upgrade your suit. If you do not then you can keep your suit very simple. Just stick to either gray, black or navy blue. Just make sure that you match your belt with your shoes and you are going to be okay.

If you are going to a meeting that is labeled as business casual than you can choose to wear a short sleeve shirt from LRG clothes, but you must make sure it has a collar. Jeans, while sometimes acceptable, should always be worn with caution; your best bet is to go with dockers or khakis instead. You would rather be a little overdressed than under dressed in a situation like that.

For job interviews you want to make sure you wear a clean suit with a clean, pressed shirt. You want to put your best foot forward. Your future employer will be looking at what you are wearing a lot. You do not dress for the job you have but rather the kind of job you want.

Being a man doesn’t mean you are on easy street in the wardrobe department. You have decisions to make and this guide will help you.Â

Fashion 360

Fasion is fabulous when you are young.  You feel that you are at the forefront of the fashion world, making a bold statement, being individual.  Well as individual as your twelve freinds who all look exactly the same.  The way you dress expecially as a teenager rightly or wrongly dictates which crew or group you belong too.  Those same groups still exist for the yonger generation today and they are easily identifiable.

  • The Hippies.  There will always be the hippies and the world is better for having them.  This group look like college drops outs fighting the system but be sure to re-visit them in five years time to see them set up in a managerial position with a quaint apartment overlooking the harbour, buying organic though of course!  The loose flowing hair arranged for and hour to look like they just rolled out of bed.  Natural glowing mak-eup, maxi dresses, thongs and flowers.  Not a million miles away from the original hippies of the 60′s
  • The Goths.  Black rock t-shirts, black eyes and nails infact the blacker the better!  Girls where rockabilly accessories and both sexes have cool tattoos.  Big platform boots which are a distant relation to the winklepicker.
  • The Jocks.  Boys and girls the sports jackets, the bright white sneakers and smiles along with a perma all year round tan.  They will not believe that their parents looked and dressed exactly the same back in the 50′s and 60′s.

So embrace your fashion past, you may think they were faux pas back then but you were the inspiration for the next fasion generation!

Changing Fashion Trends Leaving You in the Dust?

Keeping up with current fashion trends is about as easy as treading water during a tsunami. The styles are ever changing course and as quickly as one wave comes in, another rises over top. Sometimes it is best to stick to the tried and true styles that never seem to go out. Boot-cut jeans, fitted cotton tees and that little black dress never seem to lose the fashion war. There are ways to keep up with fashion trends without bowing down to the black hole of consumer spending though.

When a new “must-have” comes out, take a good look at it. Usually you will have an initial reaction; you love it, or you hate it. Try not to act on this though. Humans don’t take kindly to change and often something new will give them immediate thoughts of “NO WAY!”

When a new trend emerges, try it on. See if it fits your body. Try to imagine wearing the item to the office, out to supper with your significant other, or on a girls only weekend. Can you picture it? If so, can you picture wearing the item six months down the road? How about next year at this time? Could it be paired with any other items in your wardrobe? If you’ve answered no to these questions, put the item back. If you’ve answered yes to one or two and the piece is inexpensive compared to your budget, consider it a bit longer. If you’ve answered yes to all the questions, go ahead and buy it. It might just turn out to be a new classic! If it’s just not your thing, skip it and save your money for a cute pair of shoes or a new handbag.

How to Look Fashionable with Dress Codes

Dress codes are often strictly enforced in both public and private schools. Youth fashion found in shopping malls currently pushes the limits of what can be worn and be considered appropriate. Offensives against the dress code can have disciplinary consequences.  Here are some ways to look fashionable with dress codes in school.

Creating more variety in your wardrobe starts with thinking outside of the box. Define first what you can wear. This may consist of a certain color or style.

One way to get around dress codes is to purposely look for loopholes.  There may a requirement to wear blue shirts and khaki pants or skirts. The exact style may not be mentioned.
